Equality Charter School, founded in 2009, will expand upon its success in grades 6-12 and open Equality Charter Elementary School in the Fall of 2024. Equality Charter Elementary School (ECES) will enroll scholars in grades K-1 in the Fall of 2024 and continue to expand through grade 5 making Equality Charter School one of the largest independent charter schools serving grades K-12. 

 

Equality Charter Elementary School is delighted to begin our search for a founding ECES Special Populations Coordinator/SpEd Teacher! ECES is seeking "can do", "roll up your sleeves", “above and beyond is the norm” team player who is up for the job of founding coordinator/teacher. A founding staff member must be someone who is very comfortable with adapting to change, as we anticipate the realities of opening a new school. Most importantly, our founding team members must epitomize our mission, vision and values to serve as brand ambassadors for our community and families, models for our scholars, and accountability partners for one another.

Special Populations Coordinator/Special Education Teacher Description

Equality Charter School is seeking a dynamic, talented special educator who is passionate about meeting the needs of SWDs and ELLs. We are looking for someone who can wear two hats for our first year (2024-25): 1) 50% Special Populations Coordinator, and 2) 50% Special Education Teacher (K or 1, ICT setting). For the part-time work as the Special Populations Coordinator, we are seeking someone who will tirelessly advocate for our scholars, effectively meet SWD and ELL compliance demands, and thoughtfully support families through ELL and SWD identification and progress monitoring processes. For the part-time work as a Special Education Teacher, we are seeking someone who can effectively serve the learning needs of a diverse population of scholars and collaborate effectively as a co-teacher. 

 

Required Duties

Special Populations Coordinator (roughly 50%)

Special Education Teacher, ICT Setting (roughly 50%)

*Experience with the following programs and assessments are a plus: EarlyBird, CKLA, mClass (or Acadience or Dibbles), CGI math approach, NWEA Map Growth, Illustrative Mathematics, MTSS framework
